Campus Security Guard
We invite applications for a full-time opportunity at St. Andrew’s College (SAC) and St. Anne’s School (SAS) in role of Campus Security Guard. This is a full-time role with overnight shifts Monday to Friday from midnight to 9 a.m.
The Security Guard is responsible for enforcing campus security policies and procedures for both schools, located within 1 km of each other.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct regular patrols of the facilities at SAC and SAS.
- Assist in parking and crowd control during special events, assemblies, and sports fixtures to maintain order and safety.
- Respond promptly to calls, alarms, emergencies, or incidents on both premises.
- Use CCTV surveillance equipment to monitor the premises for suspicious behaviour.
- Liaise with local EMS and police services.
- Ensure campus security by maintaining a visitor log, record of activities, and security equipment maintenance check records.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and mediate conflicts or disturbances that may arise among employees, students, or visitors.
- Ensure all access points (doors, windows, and gates) are properly secured.
The ideal candidate will bring proven experience as a security guard or similar role. Candidates must possess a valid Ontario Security License, Class G driver’s license, Level 3 First aid, and CPR certification.
Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and adaptability skills, including the ability to work independently and report incidents of inappropriate or suspicious behaviour to the administration. The ideal candidate should coordinate with other security personnel and school staff to ensure a cohesive security approach. As an ambassador of the school, we seek positive, adaptable, and solution-oriented applicants. Additionally, a current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required. The responsibilities may also depend on the type of facility being guarded and in event of an emergency, duties may be quick to change.
