On Sept. 29, our squad faced off against The York School, leading confidently through three quarters with sharp execution and strong defence.
But a tough stretch of turnovers in the final frame shifted the momentum, resulting in a narrow 23-17 loss. Still, the game was packed with standout moments, especially from Idara, who anchored our defence with grit and intensity. Suri earned Player of the Game for her relentless effort and leadership on the court.
On Oct. 1, the Cygnets were back in action against Albert College. The opposition came out strong, but our team responded with resilience, sticking to our 2-3 zone, experimenting with a press, and showing real growth in ball movement and passing. The final score was 36-22, but the progress was undeniable.
A huge shoutout to Bridget, our Player of the Game, who seemed to appear out of nowhere to snatch rebounds, create second-chance opportunities, and keep us in the fight with her hustle and heart.
These back-to-back battles showcased the team’s evolution from defensive grit to strategic adjustments and fearless play. The Cygnets are building something special, and we couldn’t be prouder.
