St. Anne's News

This Is St. Anne’s

There is a particular kind of energy that fills a school designed intentionally for girls. It’s present in the quiet focus of a classroom discussion, in the confident stride of a student stepping to the podium, in the laughter between teammates after practice, and in the steady determination of a girl who knows her voice matters.

It is difficult to capture in a single sentence. So, we decided to show it.

We are excited to launch a new collection of video work: a four-minute feature film, a 30-second commercial now playing in theatres and across digital platforms, and an updated version of Do My Thing, now featuring our own students. Together, they offer an authentic glimpse into the lived experience of St. Anne’s students.

The four-minute feature invites viewers into the school’s daily rhythm. Classrooms are alive with discussion. Girls lean into debate, ask thoughtful questions, and challenge ideas with clarity and respect. In labs and studios, collaboration is active and purposeful. On the field and in the gym, competition is intense and grounded in teamwork.

There is confidence here. Not the loud kind, but the steady kind. The kind that grows when girls are given space to lead, to try, to reflect, and to try again.

The 30-second commercial distills that spirit into something immediate and unmistakable. In just a few frames, you see focus, joy, determination, and belonging.

Do My Thing, originally imagined before SAS opened its doors, has been reimagined to reflect the girls who now define our school. Their expressions, focus, movement, and presence carry the message. What once represented a vision has become a lived reality, shaped by the students themselves.

At St. Anne’s, doing your thing means discovering your strengths and having the courage to develop them. It means engaging deeply in academics, embracing leadership opportunities, and contributing meaningfully to community life.

What these short films reveal is not a staged version of school life, but a community where ambition is encouraged, wellness is prioritized, and intellectual curiosity is part of everyday conversation.

We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. William Scoular, Director of Drama & Film, for his vision, creativity, and dedication in bringing this work to life. His thoughtful storytelling and attention to detail have allowed our community to proudly highlight who we are on screen.
Empowering girls to be courageous learners and compassionate citizens who live and lead with wisdom.
