Focus Festival of the Arts May 6-8

The Focus Festival of the Arts celebrates the incredible creativity within our partnered schools. From May 6 to 8 at St. Andrew’s College, upwards of 100 St. Anne’s students will showcase their class and co-curricular projects in a variety of venues, open to the community in the evenings starting at 5:30 p.m.

Cygnets will travel to SAC on Friday over lunch to catch some of these empowering works and to support our thriving community of artists. A finalized schedule will be posted on the Upper and Middle School news channels at the beginning of next week.

Highlights of this year’s festival include our Music department’s set in the Robert and Jilla Williams Band Room, the combined school musical, Jersey Boys, in Wirth Theatre, and the inaugural SAS Upper School Drama/Cygnet Dance Pack production of Teenage Dream, based on the music of Katy Perry.

Staunton Gallery venue will feature Grade 8 Integrated Arts’ A Pigeon Symphony, Bettina Zeng’s I Spy! A Fashion Show, and visual arts displays. In the Makerspace, don’t miss the empowering story of Poetree, Lilly Reginald’s original No Screentime in a Tragedy, as well as the thought-provoking What If.

Finally, in the Reininger Rehearsal Room, small Upper School drama ensembles will dive into impactful character studies in Tic Tac Toe and a collection of monologues in To Be A Woman. Our students are also collaborating with SAC actors in new dramatic works.
Empowering girls to be courageous learners and compassionate citizens who live and lead with wisdom.
