U14 Red Basketball Cygnets bring home a win
The U14 Red Basketball team hit the road to take on The York School on Oct. 17. With the stands packed with Storm fans and the No. 2-ranked team in the league on the court, the pressure was on.
The Cygnets battled through a tough first half, trailing 12-26 as nerves ran high. After a strong half-time pep talk, the Cygnets came out on fire, completely shutting out The York School in the third quarter and taking the lead, 28-26.
Lockdown defence from Sophia C. and Maya R-D silenced the crowd, while Ava L., Cynthia H., and Hannah K. delivered back-to-back buckets.
The Cygnets secured the win with a final score of 39-29. Every player on the team stepped up, showing heart, hustle, and unshakable team spirit!
The team advances to the final four championships on Oct 30.
